SPECIAL EVENT GAME HIGHLIGHT
Can you survive the Battletech Grinder? A special event you can play at Game On Expo and Crit Hit 7!
Event Overview
The Grinder is a drop-in, drop-out style event that will run continuously over three days. Players start at Tier 1 mechs and progress through higher tiers as their mechs are destroyed. Each day, progression resets to Tier 1, creating fresh opportunities for players to climb the ranks and win prizes.

How would you pitch BattleTech to someone who doesn't know? Who would you say is this game for?
BattleTech is a game of giant war machines, tactical battles, and deep strategy. It’s set in a rich universe filled with political intrigue, mercenary warfare, and centuries of conflict between noble houses and interstellar factions. Wargamers will find deep tactical gameplay with a variety of mechs and loadouts to master. Roleplayers can dive into the personal stories of MechWarriors and their mercenary companies. Lore enthusiasts have over 35 years of rich history!
So is this event for people who are new to BattleTech or longtime fans/players?
This event is designed for both longtime fans and newcomers, but my main goal is to introduce new people to the hobby. BattleTech can seem overwhelming at first, but the Grinder format makes it easy to learn step by step. You start with a simple light mech and earn your way into bigger, deadlier machines as you gain experience. There’s no pressure—just a chance to throw some dice, blow things up, and see what makes this game so fun. Veterans will still find plenty to enjoy, whether it’s experimenting with different mechs, helping new players get into the game, or just embracing the chaos of a fast-paced, action-packed format.
What makes BattleTech and events like this awesome for you?
For me, what makes BattleTech and events like this special is the chance to share my knowledge of a game I love. Teaching new players, seeing them have that “aha” moment when they grasp a key mechanic, and watching them get hooked on the game is incredibly rewarding. Events like this are also fantastic for the sheer chaos they create. No two games are ever the same, and the dice have a way of crafting moments you’ll talk about long after the battle is over. Whether it’s a lucky shot that decapitates an assault mech or a desperate last stand that turns the tide, these games generate incredible memories that keep people coming back for more.
